Does Testing Work?
Employment testing has been used by employers for pre-employment testing for at least 50 years. Skills assessments, cognitive, personality, psychometric and job performance testing is a huge industry generating close to one billion dollars in North America.
These tests are not perfect but do have merit for the employer when hiring you. Most organization’s use testing as a part of their hiring process but not . . .

Professional Communication Etiquette
One of the most important lessons I learned many years ago is never lazy or take shortcuts. If you think you know it all, that way of being could also contribute to the downfall of your chosen career path. My motto has always been, if you can learn one piece of information you did not know, then it is worth your time. If that small piece of information can maximize your success chance, then it is worth your effort. Don’t take the chance of jeopardizing your success rate opportunities.

Small Talk
If you struggle to engage in small-talk communication then this content is for you.
When something does not come naturally, it is an uphill challenge. Challenges are called challenges, as they take hard work to maneuver through. You can overcome, but it will take focus and concentration. Comfort is another story. For now, you will have to fake comfort until you actually feel it. You have to believe in yourself and focus on learning to take little steps at a time to successfully move through challenges. It may take a bit of time so patience is required.

IDENTITY THEFT – Beware of Online Con Artists Creeping Around
Years ago, the guys that were called gangsters would plan their crime, do their thing and create havoc that often would take authorities years to track down. These scammers and their consistently changing, technically driven fraud activities are targeting new victims at an unprecedented rate. Even online job postings are at risk for job seekers as they also have become bad guy victim prospect targets.

Is Your Boss or Colleague a Bully?
The differences between being a victim of a workplace abuser or a bully is negligent. Either or both are very bad. The two bad behaviours merge together with minimal difference. If any of the following is happening to you or someone you know, you are not alone.
Please consider that as a loyal, committed career minded individual with high moral standards, you must be vigilant in protecting yourself and your colleagues. If we don’t protect each other and just let the chips fall where they may, it could be a regret you can never take back.

What is a Day Planner?
Why should I use one?
Some of us myself included, remember when we went on the annual day planner purchase. For many years around November, I and most everyone I know that has been working for 20+ years would order their new annual paper-based, book bound, day planner. Today our calendars and schedules are digital and many feel more efficient but digital scheduling and calendar management solutions have proven to have its own challenges. So you tell me, which is a better business tool, the digital version or the paper version?
Checklist For Promotion Planning
If you are on a mission to create your next promotion, that is terrific! Make sure you are on the right path and not just hoping that a promotion will be offered. Create the opportunity. If you don’t, who will?
It is your responsibility to increase your chances for promotion. Your boss or employer don’t owe you a promotion. In great working environments, promotions are earned not given. Working hard doesn’t always cut it. There are many components to being promoted. If you are someone who believes that they have contributed at an above . . .

Communication Filter – Do you have one?
Do You Have a Communication filter or is your boss lacking the filter?
Have you ever worked with someone that does not think before they speak? Like your parents or grandparents always said, it seems that they forgot to count to 10 before speaking. If you visualize a waterfall of words that just spew out of someone’s mouth, that is not appropriate for the situation, uncalled for or just downright rude, that would be an individual without a communication filter.
When you have a communication filter you can clearly and efficiently process information and can respond if . . .
