Needless to say this shocked my client as there was no warning or hint that this action was coming down the road. My client was told that he was not being let go for cause and that his services were appreciated but that due to a organization – wide business decision the role was no longer positioned in Canada. He was then told to go to clear out his desk, return all equipment, give back all corporate credit cards, all passwords would be severed immediately and that a letter would be delivered to him by end of day. Skype call ended.
