Stonewalling:
- Stonewalling is when there is refusal intentionally or unintentionally to engage, refusal to cooperate or share, and/or giving the silent treatment.
- Fear can cause stonewalling. You want to feel safe and respected. If you don’t feel safe and are feeling stonewalled by your boss or a colleague, ask them what you can do to help them. Perhaps once they realize you are offering to help not make their job harder, fear will recede.
Sarcasm & Contempt:
- Jealousy occurs within most work environments hopefully by others not you.
- When someone shows contempt they are often driven by long-standing bad feelings like belligerence, use belittling words or actions, use condescending words or actions, outwardly shows the person they feel disgusted, use name-calling, can be sarcastic, hostile, and often make mean comments.
Toxic behavior can create a type of poison that can infiltrate your personal and/or your professional life if you allow it to seep into your world.
